Welcome
to the New
Hope Foundation and the New Hope Migrant and Refugee
Centre
The
New Hope Migrant and Refugee Centre (NHMRC) (formerly
South Central Region Migrant Resource Centre) and it's related
entity the New Hope
Foundation (NHF) have been providing
settlement, welfare, advocacy and individual support and
referral services for migrants, refugees and culturally and
linguistically diverse (CALD) clients since 1981.
Originally
established as the Prahran Migrant Resource Centre we have now
grown to become a major provider of services to our multicultural
community across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Our name
reflects our mission to assist migrants and refugees realise their
hope of a new life in a new country.

Former
Treasurer of Australia is the Founding Chairperson of the New Hope
Migrant and Refugee Centre and Patron of the New Hope
Foundation.
"New Hope
extends our deepest sympathies to the family of Mr Crean, our
Founding Chairperson, who passed away on 2 December
2008.
Our
condolences and thoughts go out to Mrs Mary Crean, her sons Simon
and David and their families.
The values
and principles that drive the work of this organisation were
established by Mr Crean and his legacy will continue into the
future through our work.
There are
few people of whom it can be said that the world is a better place
because of them, we believe that in Frank Crean's case this is a
fitting epitaph."
